Monstera Peru (karstenianum)

This listing is for a rooted Monstera Peru (karstenianum). They all look similar to the pictures I have from my last batch. All plants are shipped bare root.

Monstera Peru (karstenianum)

Monstera Peru is also known as Monstera karstenianum but that is not a scientifically accepted name. If you are in love with the Monstera family you need one of these! The leaves are large and corrugated in texture the foliage is a deep dark green. A very rare but fast growing Monstera with spectacularly puckered, iridescent leaves. The stunning bi-colored jade leaves are unusually rigid and generally spaced at 2” intervals when totem grown. These are very healthy, climbing tropical plants with well established root systems. You could leave as it is and let it trail or give it a support pole to climb.

Monstera Peru (karstenianum) CARE-

Light:

This Monstera will grow well in medium to bright light.

Soil:

Plant in a peaty, well-draining soil in a pot with drainage holes. Remember try to stay away from wet, mucky or dry, sandy soils.

Water:

Water once the soil is a little dry, the leaves will quickly turn yellow if being over watered. I water my Monstera peru every 9 days and mist 2/3 times a week. It’s always good practice to check the soil beforehand.

Temperature and Humidity:

These Monsteras thrive at temperatures between 55°- 80°F

Fertilizer:

To help establish your new Karstenianum Monstera, fertilize sparingly at least 6 inches away from the base, tri-annually with a slow time released product. Unfertilized they will tend to grow very slowly. Note: The heavy salts in cheaper fertilizers will damage the roots and possibly kill the plant.

****SHIPPING- (WILL TAKE PLACE IN MARCH!)**** These plants are far too rare and expensive to ship them in the winter.

All my plants are shipped with 2 day shipping (in March!) to get them to you as soon as possible. We don’t want them spending too much time in transit. I am now able to offer my customers the cheapest 2 day shipping possible. Lowest price around!

As soon as you receive your package, please take your plant out of the box and place it in a bright, warm location.

I always carefully package my plants in order for them to arrive safely. If for some reason there is an issue with your order, please send me a message and I will be more than happy to try and solve it for you.

I am currently only able to ship within Canada. Sorry.
